At Pinnacle Institute of Cosmetology our nail technology course includes instruction on advanced techniques for basic nail care as well manicures, pedicures and nail sculpturing.

The Nail Technology (Manicurist) curriculum is designed to provide competency-based knowledge, scientific/artistic principles, and hands-on fundamentals associated with the Nail Technology industry. The curriculum provides a simulated salon environment which enables the student to develop skills required.

Course objective: After instruction demonstration and practice the student will be able to complete the course work which includes instruction in sanitation, Cosmetology Law, anatomy of the hand and arm, disorders of the nail and skin, chemistry as applied to manicuring and pedicuring, hand and arm massage and foot and leg massage, artistic principles and advanced techniques. The course is limited in scope to working with the nails of an individual, only. The Manicurist course does not prepare the student to do any work in the salon other than manicuring, pedicuring, and the application of artificial nails. The student must have an average of 80% or above to successfully complete the program.

Graduates will qualify to sit for the State Board of Cosmetic Art examination. Upon successful completion of the State Board examination, graduates will be issued a Manicurist License. Employment is available in hair/nail salons as nail specialists, platform artists for nail products manufacturers.
